Abstract

[May] 1948 and August 15 - 29 October 1951, Correspondence between MJM and Dato Onn, Colonial Office, Sir Alexander Newboult, Sir Henry Gurney, including notes of interviews with Dato Onn, re Data Onn, his threatened resignations from the Federal Executive Council and other Federal bodies; administration not according to the Federal Agreement; Federal Government interference in State Government matters; visit to London; participation of Malays in government, etc; discussions with the Colonial Office; Malay Regiment; status of Sultan of Johore; quarrel with the Rulers; Government servants' involvement in political activities; suggested reconstruction of Federal Council; formation of Independence of Malaya Party.
